Position: Bus Driver
In this role, we are seeking a qualified and experienced (heavy vehicle) bus driver for our Maria Island Shuttle bus operations. This expanded bus service will operate daily between Hobart the Maria Island Ferry (Triabunna). We require a professional bus driver in the Hobart region to be available for early departures from Hobart. Our current operations are for medium sized buses (30 to 40 seats), however an experienced coach qualified driver would be preferred. Experience in tourism customer service is also desirable. The position will begin as a causal (fixed term) position on a rotating roster, with the hope to an offer of a full-time ongoing position.
The position will require drivers to live close by to the Hobart CBD and commute to start work in Hobart at 7:15am. Pre departure and manifest checks conducted at 7:30am then drive to Brooke Street Pier for guest pickup and departure at 8am. Guests will be dropped off at Triabunna Marina at 9:15am then the bus parked at our depot in Triabunna. Drivers will be based at the depot during the day and will be responsible for basic maintenance checks on our fleet of vehicles, washing, detailing of the bus and refuelling. Drivers will disembark Triabunna with guests at 5pm and arrive back in Hobart to finish at 6:45pm.
Employment start date: 1st September 2025 (Training and inductions late August)
Employment end date: 31st May 2026 (Possibility and hopeof continuing service through winter 2026)

Position: Tour Guide
In this role, we are seeking enthusiastic tour guides / deckhands for our cruise & guided walking tours on Maria Island. Successful applicants will have a passion for entertaining people, working in the outdoors, learning about Maria Island’s history and cultural past. Experience as a vessel deckhand, tour guiding, or tourism customer service is not essential but will be preferred. Guides will also share the role of driving our small / medium sized buses to and from Hobart, and work in administration on our tour desk / counter. The position will be well remunerated to cover the varying roles and will begin as a causal (fixed term) position on a rotating roster.
Preference will also be given to guides who have experience driving small / medium sized tourism buses. Guides will be required to hold or can obtain a Medium Rigid heavy vehicle licence and Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) endorsement and min level Response First Aid and CPR. Deckhand training and qualifications such as Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS) will be provided during your employment.

Guests will be dropped off at Triabunna at 8:00am then the bus parked at our depot in Triabunna. Guides will then be either rostered to guide on the boat or work in the cafe / office administration depending on the rotation of the roster. Guides will disembark Triabunna with guests at 5pm and arrive back in Hobart to finish at 6:20pm.
Employment start date: 1st October 2025 (Training and inductions late September)
Employment end date: 31st May 2026 (Possibility of continuing employment through winter 2026)
